Booking a boudoir session can feel exciting, a little intimidating and probably comes with a lot of questions, especially if it’s your first time.
As a Calgary boudoir photographer, one of the most important parts of my job is helping clients feel comfortable before they even step in front of the camera. Most people arrive feeling at least a little nervous, and that’s completely normal.
Boudoir sessions are designed to feel relaxed, supportive and tailored to your comfort level. You do not need experience, you do not need to know how to pose and you definitely do not need to change anything about yourself before your session.

Where Do Boudoir Sessions Take Place?
Most boudoir sessions take place in my private studio located in SE Calgary. The studio is quiet, comfortable and designed to feel welcoming from the moment you arrive.
For clients looking for a different feel, sessions can also take place in hotels, Airbnb spaces or private homes depending on the style of images you would like to create.
What Should I Bring to My Boudoir Session?
I always recommend bringing a few outfit options so we can create variety throughout your session.
Some clients bring lingerie and bodysuits while others prefer oversized sweaters, robes or a partner’s button-up shirt. There is no right or wrong approach. The best outfits are usually the ones that make you feel most comfortable and confident.
Do I Need to Know How to Pose?
Not at all.
In fact, almost every client says this before their session.
I guide you through everything step by step, including posing, expressions and small adjustments that help create flattering, natural images. You never have to figure things out on your own.
The goal is not stiff posing or perfection. It’s creating images that feel genuine and comfortable.
I’m Nervous About Booking a Boudoir Session. Is That Normal?
Completely normal.
Most clients walk into the studio feeling nervous at first. By the end of the session, they are usually laughing, relaxed and surprised by how comfortable the experience actually felt.
Boudoir photography is not about performing or trying to be someone else. It is about creating space to feel confident, seen and comfortable in your own skin.
How Long Does a Boudoir Session Take?
Sessions can be quick and simple or longer with multiple outfit changes and lighting setups depending on the package you choose.
Some clients prefer a shorter session while others enjoy taking their time and exploring a variety of looks. Everything moves at a pace that feels relaxed and comfortable for you.
When Will I Receive My Photos?
Most clients receive their professionally edited images in less than a week through a private online gallery.
If you need your images sooner, rush delivery can often be arranged.
Will My Photos Be Shared Publicly?
Your privacy is always respected.
Images are only shared publicly with permission, and many clients choose to keep their photos completely private. You are always in control of what is shared.
