Actor headshots are very different from traditional school photos or overly corporate business portraits. Casting directors are usually looking for images that feel expressive, believable and easy to connect with. The goal is not to look overly posed or heavily retouched, but to create headshots that feel confident and real.
This session included both studio and outdoor photography along with a variety of outfit changes to create different looks and moods throughout the shoot. Some images felt softer and more approachable while others had a slightly stronger or more serious feel depending on the wardrobe, lighting and expression.
Having variety in actor headshots is important, especially for performers beginning their careers and exploring different casting opportunities. Small changes in clothing, posture and expression can create a completely different energy in the final images.
One of the biggest concerns many young actors have is not knowing how to pose or what to do in front of the camera. Sessions are fully guided and designed to feel relaxed and supportive from start to finish so clients can focus less on the camera and more on simply being themselves.
