Planning a boudoir session can feel exciting and maybe a little nerve wracking, especially if it is your first time. Many clients arrive with questions about what the experience will be like and how to prepare.
As a Calgary boudoir photographer, my goal is always to make the entire process feel comfortable, relaxed and even fun. Boudoir sessions are designed to celebrate confidence, personality and individuality.
Below are some of the most common questions I hear from clients before their session.
Where do boudoir sessions take place?
Most boudoir sessions take place in my private studio located in SE Calgary. The studio is designed to feel welcoming, comfortable and completely private so clients can relax and enjoy the experience.
Sessions can also be arranged in other locations such as hotels or private homes depending on the style of images you would like to create.
What should I bring to my boudoir session?
I always recommend bringing several outfit options so we have variety to work with. Many clients bring lingerie, robes, bodysuits, oversized sweaters or even a partner’s dress shirt.
Having a few options allows us to create different looks and moods throughout the session.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. One of the most common worries clients have is not knowing how to pose. I guide every step of the session so you always know what to do.
Small adjustments to posture lighting and angles help create flattering images while keeping everything natural and comfortable.
I am nervous about doing a boudoir session. Is that normal?
Absolutely. Feeling nervous before a boudoir session is completely normal and very common.
Part of my job as a Calgary boudoir photographer is helping clients relax and enjoy the experience. Once the session begins most people settle in quickly and start to have fun.
How long does a boudoir session take?
Boudoir sessions can be very quick for clients who want a simple experience, or longer depending on the type of session you choose.
Some clients prefer a fast session while others enjoy taking more time to explore different outfits and lighting styles. We always move at a pace that feels comfortable.
When will I receive my photos?
Most clients receive their professionally edited images within less than a week through a private online gallery.
If you need images more quickly we can often arrange faster delivery.
Will my photos be shared publicly?
Your privacy is always respected. Images are only shared publicly if you give permission.
Many clients choose to keep their images completely private and that choice is always respected.
