Tips from a Calgary Boudoir Photographer
One of the most common questions clients ask before a boudoir session is what they should bring to wear. The good news is that there is no single right answer. Boudoir photography is about celebrating your personality and confidence, so the best outfits are the ones that make you feel comfortable and beautiful.
As a Calgary boudoir photographer, I always recommend bringing a variety of options so we can create different looks during your session. Sometimes the most unexpected pieces end up creating the most beautiful images.
Bring More Options Than You Think You Need
When preparing for your boudoir session, it is always helpful to bring several outfit options. Many clients arrive with lingerie sets, robes, bodysuits or favourite pieces that make them feel confident.
We can review everything together and choose the looks that photograph best. Often a mix of styles works beautifully.
Some clients bring:
• lingerie sets
• bodysuits
• robes
• oversized sweaters
• a partner’s dress shirt
• heels or accessories
Having a few options gives us flexibility to create different moods and styles during the session.
Simple Pieces Can Be the Most Beautiful
Boudoir photography does not have to be complicated. Some of the most elegant images come from simple pieces like lace, soft fabrics or a favourite shirt.
A classic white sheet or cozy sweater can create images that feel natural and timeless.
The most important part of any boudoir outfit is how you feel wearing it.
Comfort and Confidence Matter Most
Many clients arrive feeling a little nervous about their session, especially if it is their first time. That is completely normal.
Part of my role as a Calgary boudoir photographer is to guide you through the entire experience. From choosing outfits to posing and lighting, everything is designed to help you feel comfortable and confident.
